A place for me to share some of my photography, illustration et el. Some of my favourites from my own collection.
This was my very first watercolour painting. It was during my degree course where we were given a watercolour workshop by a working illustrator and I’d never tackled watercolours before that day. We were given magazines to pick an image and to base our drawing on as well as for reference when painting. Mine was a soft and blurry image so I was really challenging myself with this piece. I learnt some very cool techniques with this guy and the result isn’t an a-typical watercolour painting. I did a lot more watercolours after that workshop.

Parcel Another college still life project. The idea behind this was a bit like pass the parcel, we were tasked with wrapping an item several times with various different materials and textures with the aim of having different time limits to render each layer. This was the most outer layer.

Once upon a time I was a member of DeviantART and it was here a member asked to do a private ATC trade with me. We settled on three cards to trade and I decided to do a triptych. This was a very unusual piece for me, trying out many different methods to get the end result. The image was sketched, worked on, on the computer printed off onto watercolour paper, painted, penciled in before then being overlaid with a printed acetate which was then sewn on before cut to separate the cards into three.

Once upon a time I was a member of DeviantART and it was here a member asked to do a private ATC trade with me. We settled on three cards to trade and I decided to do a triptych.

Still life - Pumpkins I don’t do well with a blank canvas or paper, so often my way to overcome that is to deface the page before I work on it. Sometimes the simple act of using torn paper helps me overcome the blank canvas syndrome. I used a lamp to light the pumpkins to create interesting shadows and drew this observation which I inked out.

I used to be a member of an ATC group on LiveJournal. One of the last ATC’s I did for the group was this one. Each month we’d have a theme, this particular month was an open theme month. At the time there was a scarecrow festival going on where I live so I decided to base my theme on that and this was the result. Medium is a mixture of drawings, texture and then computer render in Photoshop.
